ODM rate packages on the way
Today, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) shared that nursing facility rate packages are prepared and will be distributed shortly to providers. One change is that ODM recalculated the ancillary prices based on a new estimate for Medicaid days. ODM’s original projection for FY 2022 was 14.9 million days. CY 2021 Medicaid days was just over 14 million. Since direct care was already fully rebased, there was no change to that cost center, however, the ancillary prices will increased based on the revised assumptions, as follows:
Furthermore, the Department announced revised calculations for the Quality Incentive Payment (QIP), with a per diem, per point value of $1.82, and the 25th percentile raising to 10.75 points. This reflects increasing quality overall since the last calculation, when the 25th percentile fell at 9.5 points. LeadingAge Ohio will be reaching out to any members who fell into the bottom quartile to join the QIP Collaborative, which had great success last year boosting the quality scores of nearly one-third of LeadingAge Ohio nursing facility members.
